Reticulum is a networking stack built for resilient communication without depending on one specific physical network.
Meshtastic and MeshCore are LoRa-focused ecosystems with firmware, applications and familiar device roles. Reticulum works at a broader networking layer.
A Reticulum network can use LoRa through RNode, but it can also use Wi-Fi, Ethernet, serial links, TCP, UDP and other supported interfaces. LoRa can be one part of the network instead of the whole network.
Different network segments can use different underlying links while still participating in the same Reticulum environment. A slow LoRa segment can coexist with faster local Wi-Fi or wired infrastructure.
That flexibility makes Reticulum interesting for experimentation with resilient, mixed-medium networks.
Reticulum, Meshtastic and MeshCore are separate systems. A radio running RNode firmware should not be assumed to interoperate directly with a Meshtastic or MeshCore radio just because all of them can use LoRa modulation.
No Bars Club is exploring Reticulum independently. Our primary community focus remains Meshtastic and MeshCore.
