NO BARS CLUB 500 kHz TESTING.
We are testing 500 kHz configurations for MeshCore and Meshtastic across our regional network. The goal is to choose settings from real local RF data rather than simply copying another region.

These are test settings, not a permanent regional preset.
Until testing is complete, No Bars Club has not selected a permanent MeshCore frequency.

We are measuring the network, not guessing.
Useful tests need repeatable settings and enough observations across locations, times and node types.
Keep parameters controlled
Where possible, change one radio parameter at a time while keeping a known reference node unchanged.
Record the RF data
Track packet delivery, RSSI, SNR, distance, hop count, location, firmware, antenna, antenna height, power and time of day.
Publish the winner
After enough regional observations, NBC will publish one canonical MeshCore 500 profile with setup instructions.
What happens after testing?
The selected profile will become the official NBC network setting. We also plan simple companion and repeater instructions and preset integration in No Bars Connect where supported.
Regulatory compliance is more than a preset name.
47 CFR Part 15 contains different technical paths and requirements for unlicensed devices in the 902 to 928 MHz band. Section 15.247 includes a 500 kHz minimum 6 dB bandwidth requirement for digitally modulated systems operating under that provision. Equipment authorization, power spectral density, emissions, antenna configuration and the rule section under which a device operates can also matter. No Bars Club is documenting its technical testing and does not present this page as legal advice.
Our neighboring PhillyMesh network has publicly documented its own move toward 500 kHz settings and reports that its MeshCore 500 profile performed better for its regional goals than its LongTurbo testing. Their RF environment and conclusions are useful comparison data, not automatic settings for our region.
