Why we're testing it
Not every useful mesh tool needs to control a radio. MeshScope is interesting as a discovery and visualization layer for seeing public Meshtastic activity and understanding where internet-fed mapping does—and does not—match what you hear locally.

- Nearby-node discovery usefulness
- Map speed and filtering
- How fresh reported node data appears
- Difference between MQTT-visible nodes and locally heard nodes
- Whether it helps plan field tests before driving around
Where it fits
MeshScope looks most useful as a planning and situational-awareness tool, not as a replacement for the official Meshtastic client. A local radio still tells you what your antenna can actually hear.
